Solowave operates three distinctive branded product lines. The Yardistry line is a 'one of a kind', innovative outdoor building component system that allows Do-It-Yourselfer's and Professionals to build premium outdoor structures, screens and garden elements - beautifully, easily and affordably.

Solowave enlists a blended manufacturing approach that leverages both domestic and offshore material and production capabilities. Head quartered in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Solowave's North American operations include a 170,000 square foot manufacturing, packaging and warehouse facility in Mount Forest, Ontario, and a 100,000 square foot distribution facility in Buffalo, NY. As a global player Solowave also maintains quality assurance, packaging and distribution facilities in China and sales and distribution facilities in the EEC. Solowave's products are sold in North America, the EEC, Asia, Australia and Russia. Current customers include Home Depot, Lowes, Costco, Canadian Tire and Toys R Us.

The firm was founded by Richard Boyer, an entrepreneur with over 25 years experience creating and building successful companies. Solowave's other principal, Mat Wolf brings more than 25 years of financial and operations experience to the firm.

Solowave has made investments in commercial real estate projects and high-growth companies from various industries. Under Solowave's guidance, portfolio companies have attracted significant financing from some of Canada's largest venture capital firms while building skilled senior management teams and establishing their presence in competitive global markets.

Richard Boyer

Principal

Richard Boyer, principal of Solowave Investments, is an experienced entrepreneur with over 25 years' experience creating and building high-growth companies. He is committed to becoming integrally involved with the growth and development of all portfolio companies.

Richard was founder and chief executive of Backyard Products Ltd., a manufacturer of consumer products based in Southern Ontario. In five years, he took the company from start-up to the market leader with 350 employees. Backyard Products generated 90% of its revenues from export markets in the United States, Europe and Asia. Richard sold the business to an American company in 1998 and launched Solowave the following year.

Solowave holds private portfolio investments in various high-growth companies in Southern Ontario. Richard has been central in raising capital and assembling a premier syndicate of investors, as well as in recruiting and developing the senior management team within portfolio companies and establishing a presence in a competitive global market.

Mat Wolf

Principal

Mat Wolf is a finance executive with over 25 years experience in mergers and acquisitions, divestiures and financings. Mat focuses on financings and cash flow managment for the Solowave portfolio of companies.

Mat was a VP of Finance at KPMG Corporate Finance Inc. and led a team of advisors in an office in Southwestern Ontario. Completing transactions with both privately held and publicly traded companies.
Mat also gained industry experience as the CFO of a start-up software company and the CFO of a North American multi-plant manufacturer and distributor of consumer products.

Mat is a Chartered Accountant and a graduate of the Co-op Program at Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honors Bachelor of Business Administration.

• Enterprise value of $5-20 million
• Positive free cash flow (at least as a general trend)
• Manufacturing or industrial services sectors
• Southwestern Ontario-based

In identifying market opportunities we look for:

• Potential for growth within current markets (scale) or expansion into new markets (scope)
• Evidence of high levels of industry profitability
• Markets with potential for high growth and substantial size

Once a potential opportunity is identified, Solowave's team, in consultation with our advisory board and industry experts, will analyze the target company and its markets and perform other aspects of due diligence.
