Richard Boyer, principal of Solowave Investments, is an experienced entrepreneur with over 20 years' experience creating and building high-growth companies. He is committed to becoming integrally involved with the growth and development of all portfolio companies.

Boyer was founder and chief executive of Backyard Products Ltd., a manufacturer of consumer products based in Southern Ontario. In five years, he took the company from start-up to the market leader with 350 employees. Backyard Products generated 90% of its revenues from export markets in the United States, Europe and Asia. Boyer sold the business to an American company in 1998 and launched Solowave the following year.

Solowave holds private portfolio investments in various high-growth companies in Southern Ontario. Boyer has been central in raising capital and assembling a premier syndicate of investors, as well as in recruiting and developing the senior management team within portfolio companies and establishing a presence in a competitive global market.
